"retreat!" shouted a husky low voice from across the glimmering ice, this was ignored by the two men, more like the two young boys arguing on the frozen river.
"Why don't you stop claiming Russian territory and just join mother Russia? Da." chirped a childish but equally eerie voice, which was owned by a boy with platinum blonde hair and deep violet eyes.
"Zhe awesome Teutonic knights don't have time for zhis mother Russia nonsense, ve vill-" The obnoxious boy with blood red eyes and silvery-white hair shouted as he began to unsheathe his sword while running towards the other country. But was interrupted but not by a voice or blade since this was a battle after all, but by a load cracking noise. The reason why they were told to retreat had reached them and it was in this case the parting ice.
The large crack grew longer and longer leaving a trail of destruction, death and anguish behind it,
“Quick get off of the ice!” shouted the Russian boy with violet eyes carrying a worried expression, of course the young knight charging towards him didn’t listen and continued to insult him.
“Vhy vould I listen to a dumb Russian, zhe awesome me vill defeat you in seco-.”Sneered the knight on the other side of the large crack, right before plunging into the sub-zero ice.
Above him was the Russian boy, he watched as the boy with white hair splashed around in the previously frozen river, gurgling and gasping for air. He tutted and grabbed the knights arm pulling his shivering body out of the icy water.
“You should have listened to me.” He scolded in his eerie voice.
“V-ve don’t need to c-conquer any of your land a-anyvay!” stuttered the shivering knight, leaping away from the Russian boy and retreating with his fellow knights.
-On the walk home-
“And zhen I kicked him soo hard zhat the ice started to crack.”
“Wow Mr Beilschmidt.” Gasped one clearly gullible knight. “That’s truly awesome!”
“I know right, mein awesomeness is just too…Aweso-“
“Hey what’s that.” Said the gullible knight, stopping and pointing to a faint shadow behind a bush, interrupting the red eyed boy about the third time today.
“My awesomeness must be causing you to see zhings.” Exclaimed the boy, pointing to himself proudly.
“No, there really is something there Sir.”
“No zhere isn’t.”
“I’m sure of it Mr Beilshmidt.” Argued the knight, by now what was remaining of their army was far ahead of them.
“Ok zhen let’s check, but just to prove you wrong.” Sneered the narcissistic albino.
Both of them walked over to the bush parting the thick green leaves it bared, both of their eyes widened in shock as they saw a young girl in a dusty (insert colour) dress. The edges were tattered and ripped. Her hands and knees were covered in mud as if she had been crawling through a thick forest, to be exact the forest right next to the path they were following.
“She looks about your age Sir…” Said the older knight, but faint laugh was his only reply,” I-is she dead?” It seemed this question was ignored.
“Kesese,my age!…I may be awesome but I’m older zhan you vould zhink.” Scoffed the younger knight. “Und she’s obviously sleeping.”
He then leaned over the girl, she looked pretty cute considering she was wearing torn clothes and was covered in dirt.
“Can you help me lift her?” asked the young ruby eyed knight
“O-oh sure. But why” Replied the other
“Ve can’t just leave her here outside in zhe cold, can ve?”
“Yes sir.” The Older knight was happy to see his general being compassionate for once.
She was hoisted onto the young knights back and he walked and walked… and walked, their destination was pretty far away.
“Do you need any help sir?”
“I’m fine, it’s nothing zhat I can’t handle.” Replied the boy, not noticing the (e/c) eyes that fluttered open.
“Thank you for carrying me Sir but I must get going now.” Said a nearly inaudible voice.
Just then the girl realised what she had just said, and that she being carried on someone’s back.
“What the hell!” she screamed leaping away from the two knights
“Oh sorry for frightening you miss but we found you behind a bush and couldn’t leave you there so...” said the boys companion
“So you were going to just take me!” Her (e/c) eyes burned with fury and fear
“No ve just wanted to take care of you, und make sure zhat you vere ok.” Said the boy
“I can take care of myself thank you!” shouted the girl in a rude tone
“Vhere Vill you go?” asked the white haired boy, with a smirk. “If you come vith me you can have a nice bed, tasty food und I vill make sure you stay safe.”
“I’ll find my way, now goodbye.” She replied turning around, but for a second she thought, thought about where she would go. Truthfully this was an offer she couldn’t pass up, a home, food and maybe even protection. This was perfect for her current situation.
“Ok I’ll come.”
“I knew you’d give in! I’m just too awesome for zhe ladies to resist.” Boasted the red eyed boy.
And suddenly she felt that she would regret this decision.
“So vhat’s your name Fräulein?”
“_________, ________ __________” answered the girl
“I’m zhe awesome Gilbert .”
“Wow Gilbert, what an awesome name.” The girl said in a sarcastic unenthusiastic tone.
The older knight behind Gilbert mouthed something to the girl but she had problems making it out.
Ton’t fuel is ego? what wait oh he meant don’t fuel his ego. she thought
“Vell come on ______ let’s get going.” Gilbert held out his hand and _______ debated whether or not she should actually go with him, after a quick few seconds of thinking she grabbed his hand and walked along the path with Gilbert and the older knight

“So _______, how old are you?” he thoughtlessly blurted out
“Why do you want to know?” she said rudely, turning her head away from him
“Because I am going to take you in und look after you.” He replied “Why shouldn’t I know?”
“Eleven,” she said quietly “And what do you mean by look after me, you’re just as young as me!” her voice growing loader
“Never mind! Also how did you get here?”
“Well I-I don’t really remember.”
The older knight gulped, worrying if the question he was about to ask would be too personal.
“Do you by any chance know where your parents are?” he asked still walking with the pair
“Shhhhsh Arved!” scolded Gilbert, wary of the _______, whose eyes were harbouring tears.
“No, I don’t” tears were now threatening to leave her eyes.
“Don’t worry about zhat _______” Gilbert said trying to comfort her “You can stay vith zhe awesome me!”
_________ let out a silent sob covering her tear stained face, Gilbert pulled her into his arms, moved her hands away from her face and wiped away her tears.
Arved stood and watched, he could tell that Gilbert and _______ would be friends for years to come.
